Self Compassion
It can be overwhelming and even scary sometimes to peel back the layers and identify the roots of what is going on. But, once we know what's there . . . we can make choices that are more helpful to move through it and stop trying to suppress it.
Take a moment to check in with yourself right now. What is surfacing for you right in this moment? Identify it if you can, label it, accept that it is there and thank this emotion for showing itself to you. Maybe you know something is there, and you can’t seem to put your finger on it, that is ok too! When we give ourselves the time and the space to just acknowledge ourselves, even if we can’t identify what is going on, that is a powerful move forward. Even through pain, we identify and say "of course I am feeling this way! I see you, and this too will pass.”
Showing compassion towards ourselves is such an important step in healing and transforming our relationship to our emotions. It can be much easier to show compassion to our friends and even strangers, let’s work on transferring that energy inwards . . . because you are worth it!
